Private driver on the Dalmatian coast road

Driver and guide

A driver who also shows you the place

One vehicle, one day, and someone in the front seat who has driven these roads since 2003. Priced per vehicle, VAT included.

What it means in practice

Four things that change when the car is yours

The vehicle is yours, not a seat on it

No shared pickups, no waiting for eleven other people at a hotel that is not yours, and no departure time set by someone else's flight.

The route can change on the day

If the park is busy or the light is right somewhere else, you say so. Nothing has to be re-booked, because there is nobody else's schedule to protect.

The driver has done this road before

Family-run out of Split since 2003. The same roads, the same border crossings, the same seasons — long enough to know when the coaches arrive at Plitvice and which side of Ston is worth the stop.

One price, agreed before you travel

Per vehicle, VAT included, fuel and tolls covered. Entrance tickets and meals are paid where they are charged, which is stated on every product page before you book.

The drive and the day, from one company

Plenty of firms in Croatia are licensed to drive you and nothing more. Their quote covers the road; the rest of the day is your problem, or it is handed to an agency that adds a margin.

BULAT TRANSFER d.o.o. is registered for passenger transport by vehicle with driver — NKD 49.33.0 — and travel agency services are among its registered activities. So the itinerary, the timing, the stops and the vehicle all come from the same place, and there is one company answering the phone if a ferry is late.

Every one of those details is in the public company register, and our verification page links straight to the entry.

Days built this way

Full-day tours from Split with a driver-guide. Each one has its own itinerary, price and list of what the day covers.

Or start with the drive

A transfer with stops added is the same day arrived at from the other direction.

Private driver-guide questions

What is a private driver-guide?+

One person who drives you and knows what you are looking at. You get a private vehicle for the day and someone who can tell you why the fortress is where it is, where to eat in Šibenik, and when the coaches leave Plitvice. It is not a licensed museum guide inside ticketed sites, where a local guide is required by law.

How is that different from a transfer?+

A transfer moves you from A to B on your schedule. A driver-guide day is built around stops: you choose the route, the vehicle waits at each one, and the day ends where you want it to end. Many guests book a transfer and add stops until it becomes the second thing.

Can one company handle both the driving and the trip itself?+

Ours can. BULAT TRANSFER d.o.o. is registered for passenger transport by vehicle with driver, and travel agency services are among its registered activities. That means a full itinerary — the driving, the timing, the stops — comes from the company that also puts the car at your door. Many transport-only operators are not registered to sell the trip, only the ride.

Is the price per person?+

Per vehicle. A sedan carries up to 3 and a van up to 8, and four people travelling together pay what one would. VAT is included and there are no fuel or toll surcharges added on the day.

How far in advance should I book?+

Online booking closes 12 hours before pickup, and a 17% deposit confirms the day. In July and August the good dates go weeks ahead, so earlier is better — but a last-minute request on WhatsApp is worth sending, because a returning vehicle is sometimes free.

Do you drive outside Croatia?+

Yes. Mostar and Kravice in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Ljubljana and Bled in Slovenia, are regular routes. Border crossings are handled by the driver; passengers need a valid passport for Bosnia and Herzegovina.
